Developer Virtuix recently announced that the company's equity crowdfunding platform SeedInvest has received generous donations from more than 4,000 investors, and the amount has exceeded 11 million US dollars.
Virtuix initially released Omni One, a household consumer product exclusively equipped with Pico Neo 2, in October 2020, so that consumers can freely play their favorite virtual reality games and experiences without worrying about space constraints. The product is priced at US$1995 and is expected to be shipped in mid-2021.
In order to support the Omni One project, the team chose to raise funds through SeedInvest, with a target amount of US$15 million. The crowdfunding project will end on April 2, 2021. Investors can invest USD 1,000 in Virtuix through SeedInvest and enjoy a 20% discount (worth USD 400) when buying Omni One.
Omni One is a complete entertainment system, equipped with a dedicated VR all-in-one Pico Neo 2, which can be used directly out of the box without a PC, thus providing a seamless user experience. The equipment is designed to meet the space constraints of the family living room or other locations. OmniOne also includes a first-party game store, and first launches 30 games, including first-party games developed by Virtuix and works authorized by third parties.
Compared with the commercial version of Omni Pro, the home version of Omni One is lighter, more compact (4 feet in diameter), easy to fold and store, and can support players' free activities, including running, squatting, jumping, and retreating steps. Not only that, the product abandons the Omni Pro support ring, which provides players with greater freedom of movement, thereby further increasing the sense of immersion.
